We played for a wedding drinks reception in the lovely Bantry house, out on the partly enclosed balcony which trapped the Autumn sun wonderfully! I just found the video of us playing I got Rhythm.

Scarlet String Quartet played in the beautiful Skibbereen Cathedral. A very Christmassy wedding.

Trina & Laurence were married in The Sacred heart Church, Glounthaune. We usually play up in the balcony in this church as the sound carries beautifully. Sometimes balconies are too far away and it is often nice to be able to see the musicians up the front. We accompanied Grace O’Connell, who sang beautifully. This was our music list

Lovely wedding of Jacqui and Patrick in St John the Baptiste Church, Lisgoold, Co. Cork

They both looked stunning and it was a lovely ceremony.

We played for Lorna and Kenneths wedding today. Always a lovely time in the Honan Chapel. The sound is fabulous. We sit at the back of the chapel and the sound resonates around the church. We played a s a violin and cello duo, and accompanied Caroline Fraher who is a wonderful singer and very professional. Highly recommended if you can get her. The duo works well with a singer if the space is resonant.

A beautiful day and we were able to play outside for the drinks reception. The staff are very friendly at Ballinacurra house and it was lovely to play for guests drinking champagne in the sun.

The Scarlet String Trio played for a civil ceremony for Lily and Devin at Dromoland Castle yesterday. It was a gorgeous day which was just as well, as the ceremony was outside in the archery field.

Devin arrived on a white horse, the bridesmaid and grooms arrived in golf buggies and then Lily arrived by horse and carriage to walk down the aisle.

We played music by Tupac Shakur, arranged by myself for trio. For the Bridesmaid and Grooms and mothers we played ‘Dear Mama’, for Devin’s arrival we played ‘California love’ (they live in California) and as they walked down the aisle we played a grooving rendition of  ’2 of Americas Most Wanted’ until they rode away in the Carriage.

The highlight was the owl Alvin, a Bengalese Indian Eagle Owl who had the rings attached to his legs and was meant to fly the rings up to Devin’s leather cladded arm.
