Perfect Music for a Perfect Day

Honan chapel

The Scarlet String Quartet played for Aoife and Michael’s wedding in the Honan Chapel yesterday. We were accompanying a beautiful singer Gemma (i’ll make this a link when she sets up a site) and a friend of theirs played guitar with us for Blowers daughter. We played an instrumental version with the melody working well on viola. The acoustics in the Honan are great, giving the voice and instruments a beautiful resonant sound. We usually sit at the back for weddings. Here is the list of music we played.

Entrance: Pachelbel’s Canon
Lighting of both candles: Lascia Chio Pianga, Handel
Psalm: Eagles wings
Alleluia
Lighting of the Unity Candle: Gabriels oboe
Offertory: Air, Bach
Sign of Peace: Rondeau, Mouret
Communion: Blowers daughter and Ave maria
Signing of the Registry: The Rose and Songbird
Recessional: Wedding March, Mendelssohn

Afterwards we played in Bayview Hotel, Ballycotton.

The elevated Bayview Hotel is romantically situated in the unspoilt fishing village of Ballycotton.

It sure was a beautiful day, and we played outside looking over the water until the dinner bell was called.
